Resolutions/Goals

Yes indeed, it is a new year. And for some reason, I actually made a resolution! This was done in hopes to feel like I was accomplishing something- both spiritually and physically. (the physically because sometimes you just need to see proof!)
As such I am going to share with you my two resolutions/goals.
The first: to read my scriptures daily.
Yes, this is a typical LDS resolution. But it is one that I needed to make. I haven't been doing so well the past year, and sometimes I can tell. I want to make sure I am at least trying to improve myself and so far I have only missed 2 days. 80% is still passing!!!!

The second: to try a new recipe every week.
This one started before the new year but it's one I really enjoy and want to keep up. I am no cook, but these new recipes are helping me to improve. So far we have tried a potato casserole, breakfast pockets, taco cups, general tso/gao chicken, and homemade tortillas.
And we've liked them all!! Hopefully I remember to keep posting so you can try some of these recipes too!
Please share with me some of your favorite recipes or new ones you've tried and liked!
Happy eating!

Adrik Pierre

Heading home from the hospital!
We all knew this day was coming, myself more than anyone else and yet I still can't believe it came...I am a MOM!!! Yes, me. I now have a son!!

The story. I had my check-up on Tuesday, September 4th. While doing my urine sample my water broke! I went into the exam room, and when the nurse asked if I was having any problems I informed her I thought my water had broke. She gave me a sheet so the doctor could check. He came in asked the same question and I told him the same thing. He seemed a little skeptical and asked about it. So he finally checked and sure enough, I was right, my water had broken and I was dilated to 2.5 cm. He then encouraged me to go straight to the hospital. I called everyone (Steve first, OBVIOUSLY) while waiting for Steve to come get me, as I was a little nervous to drive myself. We were admitted to the hospital around 4 p.m., received an epidural somewhere close to 10 p.m., started pushing around 8:30 a.m. and he arrived at 10:31 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5th. He was 7lbs 6 oz and 20.5 inches. And super adorable!!! And if you've made it this far I will now allow you to look at all the pictures. :)
It was a long night waiting for the wee one's arrival. Steve got some sleep on the couch in our delivery room. I didn't sleep much that night...
One of our first pictures, if not the first!
All cleaned!!

Adrik recognized Dad from the beginning, and still does!

cool kid. clearly.

He's just a sweet little guy!

Betsy and I got to drop Laree off at the MTC on Wednesday the 11th of July!
Her last request was to get ice cream at the BYU Creamery down the road from the MTC.

The girls got to join in the festivities! (Lucky too, because they got their ice cream before lunch!! That NEVER happens at Betsy's house!!)
