four eyes!!

so i know you were all dying to see me in my glasses . so here you are, the first official good pictures.

for all of you who don't really know what or why here's the story: ever since about 8th grade i've had headaches almost every day. went to doctors and such but none of them knew anything. so never did anything about it. however my first week home from school i had a physical, and mom suggested going to an optometrist to get my eyes checked to see if they were the problem.
turns out i'm slightly far-sighted (i didn't think there was anything wrong, i can see perfectly fine): when i focus on things far away and then focus on things up close my eyes go slightly in. the dr. said that causes some strain on my eyes and a probable source for the headaches. so we're doing a 2-3 week experiment, hoping the glasses help relieve some of the pressure. i'm mostly supposed to wear them for reading, tv, computer, basically when i'll be focusing on something up close for a while. i feel like they're doing something but i'm not entirely sure.
but now that none of you care to know this, please enjoy the photos.

laree. i worry about her...

so most of you have probably heard of facebook. so they have this new application thingy where you can send bumper stickers to your friends. the above picture is one that betsy sent me. and also one that you all should recognize from growing up in the lapierre household. duh, it's harry from harry and the hendersons!!!
but anyways, the other night i had my facebook page up on my laptop in the kitchen. laree was nearby so i told her to look. she was looking at it and after a minute or two i asked her "do you know who that is?!" and laree, bless her heart, said "whoopi goldberg?"
i think i started crying i was laughing so hard. and in her defense she tried to claim that she was 'too young to remember'. pshh, like that has ever been an excuse. she also claimed that her second guess was going to be oprah winfrey...

patriot's day

so the one thing i absolutely truly miss the most about boston is patriot's day. it's my FAVORITE holiday, probably because it's only celebrated in massachusetts. the worst part about being in school, however, is that i usually miss the patriot's day celebration by only a couple of days. tomorrow is the day, and i am still in utah. i miss the reenactments, the boston marathon at the 19 mile mark, the parades and the grand opening of kimball's.
WOE IS ME.

so this past week has been my week of getting things done. i have housing for next year. stadium terrace, as seen in the picture. it's literally the backyard of the football stadium.
i also have gotten my fafsa taken care of for next year.
and as you all have seen i have a job down in virginia but it doesn't start until june, and i get home end of april. so i had all of may. thankfully my manager at sports authority in woburn is letting me transfer back just for the month. and i can start almost as soon as i get home. and he already knows the days that i need off.
now all i need to do is get through finals and we're good!!!

guess what

this is where i'm headed for my job this summer. hope it's ready for me!!

...about a summer job

hmm...tastes like blood...

so i'm not sure how many of you are aware of the books called the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer...however i am practically in love with them. (if you're curious here's the website stepheniemeyer.com)
it's about a girl that falls in love with a vampire and how it changes her life around, etc. etc. (my sister in law lisa michelle wrote about this on her family blog, just so you know i'm not the only one that got addicted. you can check her little blurb about it here) so a couple months ago it was posted on the website that summit entertainment have bought the rights to turn these books into movies, heaven bless them. i don't think this could get any better for me. filming started this month but the only cast they had were the 2 main characters. UNTIL this past weekend, when they FINALLY posted pictures of the rest of the vampire family. it's hard to read a book and form pictures of the characters in your mind, so at first i was a little heartbroken and didn't agree with the actors they chose. however, they are slowly starting to grow on me... the guy in front may look a little familiar to you harry potter fans, as he is the one that plays cedric diggory in the fourth movie.
so now, the countdown begins. the movie comes out in december and the fourth book comes out in august. this is probably going to be the sweetest year ever!!!

and remember: the world is a VAMPIRE!!
